Women Deaf leadership and advocacy training


December 21-22, 2025  Chennai, India

RiseUp! is a two-day leadership and advocacy training designed exclusively for Deaf women. This program focuses on building awareness, strengthening skills, and empowering Deaf women to become confident leaders and advocates within their communities.

Through interactive sessions, participants gain knowledge of their rights, leadership skills, communication, and self-advocacy, while connecting with role models and community leaders.

Deaf Finance Awareness Workshop


November 16, 2025  Chennai, India

A finance and life-insurance awareness program was successfully organized for the Deaf Community by the Hear Million Ability Foundation, with Mr. Rahul Gala serving as the Guest Speaker. The workshop focused on promoting accessible financial planning and life-insurance awareness through Sign Language–based communication, ensuring full understanding and participation. Key topics included savings, risk management, and the importance of life insurance for long-term security. The event effectively reached 130 Deaf participants, creating meaningful engagement and clarity on financial decision-making. The program was further supported by a Life Insurance Agent, who generously sponsored refreshments, contributing to a comfortable and inclusive learning environment.

International Day of Sign Languages


September 28, 2025  IIT Madras Campus, hennai, India

The International Sign Language Day was successfully celebrated with the participation of over 550 deaf individuals. The event aimed to promote awareness, inclusion, and the importance of sign language as a universal bridge of communication. Participants showcased cultural performances, speeches, and talent displays, creating an inspiring and joyful atmosphere. The programme highlighted equality and empowerment within the deaf community. RPWD Disability Awareness

One of the primary objectives of the Hear Million Ability Foundation (HMAF) is to promote advocacy and awareness about the challenges faced by individuals with hearing disabilities in India, which affects approximately 18 million people.

To achieve this goal, HMAF collaborates with NGOs and other organizations that support the deaf community.

The foundation recently organized a workshop to empower the deaf by providing training on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (RPWD Act 2016). The workshop also included training for instructors in Indian Sign Language.
